What kind of piano do I have?

Pianos are referred to as either upright or grand.. Simply put, an upright piano is vertical and a grand is horizontal.

A grand piano is easily identified by its standing on only three legs and its characteristic curvy case.

The type of grand piano is also denoted by length from front (where the keys are) to tail:

An upright piano is more rectangular and usually is placed against a wall. Upright type is denoted by height.
